F he Return of the Wooden Boats A A lot of the excitement of owning a wooden boat lies in the hunt for it. Flathead Valley boat owners share their stories, camaraderie – and their boats – through a local chapter of ACBS headquartered in Lakeside, Montana. The group had hosted a number of boat shows in previous years before joining ACBS. Since the club’s inception in 2006 when Bill Eisenlohr rounded up the 15 necessary members, the Big Sky ACBS club has grown to over 50 members and is one of the fastest growing in the nation. This year they will host their fifth annual Big Sky Antique & Classic Boat Show on Flathead Lake, which will join the Glacier National Park’s Centennial Celebration by commemorating the park’s wooden tour boats.
