But it was still obvious that she was pretty. Said she’d seen our Snow Angels issue and would love to be in it. Even said she was a model (aren’t they all?). Nobody’s disputing the claim. We swap information, say our goodbyes and put it in the “tickler”file for December, 2010. Excuse us, bartender? About twoweeks later, we’re talking to our good friends at the Colorado Rapids. This time of year, we start thinking soccer – especially this time around, a World Cup year. And this World Colorado and Denver South High School. Pretty cool really – one of our guys, playing on the globe’s biggest stage. Cup could be even more special because there’s a solid chance that the Rapids’Conor Casey will not only be representing the the United States, but he’ll also be representing the state of But back to the point. Somehow the subject of “Girl in Your Corner”comes up. “We’ve got the girl for you,”someone says. “She’s something else. Does all of our jumbotron stuff. She’s smokin’.” They say her name. It’s ringing a bell. Now, why do weknow this girl? We’ve got it. It’s the girl from the bar. The model. The attractive – even in the dark – girl. “Right.We know her. She’s your girl?” and the presumable influence of a cocktail or two (probably just two, though). The next minute, everyone in the soccer meeting knows her. And a minute after that, we’re telling her to tighten up her bikini strap while she’s laying half naked in the Rapids locker room in front of a camera. example of just how small of a world it really is. One minute we’re talking to a girl, in a bar, amidst loud music, low lights Turns out that the world’s game has just provided another Pretty neat.The kinda stuff that makes the world go ’round, really. Soccer is the world’s game. And as we’ve just learned, it’s a conveniently small world. And Lindsay Carroll, the girl at the bar, the girl at the Rapids games and this month’s Girl in Your Corner, is indisputably – and simply – out of this world. Enjoy.
